Rocks pirates3/18/2023 ![]() ![]() While the Rock Pirates don’t have the massive fleet of Polaris off-road and Slingshot vehicles of Sedona ATV Rentals, what they do have is some of the most awesome, scenic, high-elevation riding in the 48 connected states. Last October we reported on the Polaris Outfitter Red Rock Sedona in Arizona, and we’ve been waiting all winter and spring to experience the Alpine Loop with the Silverton Rock Pirates in southwest Colorado. Half-day rentals and tours head to Animas Ghost Town, then up California Gulch to California and Hurricane passes. ![]() Rock Pirates is a premier Polaris Adventure Outfitter operating out of Silverton, Colorado, and they run guided or self-guided rides with 28 RZR XP 4 1000s, five General 4s and two Ranger Crew 1000s. Here, a group checks out the view with Engineer’s Pass in the background. ![]() Rock Pirate’s Alpine Loop has some of the most spectacular scenery in the connected 48 states, and the ride is rated easy to moderate. Drivers must be at least 16 with a valid driver’s license. As always, helmets, goggles, long-sleeved shirts and pants are required for rentals. Outfitters are taking extra precautions to protect adventurers, staff and the communities they serve with online reservations and payment options, online rental agreements and waiver completion via customers’ devices, employee-only check-in and check-out processes, and sanitized vehicles and equipment. Guides give the history of the many ghost towns, mines and points of interest. Cinnamon Pass is at 12,620 feet, and the Alpine Loop has several high-country lakes, with San Cristobal being the largest and lowest, outside of Lake City (elevation 8,671 feet). We went in early August, and the weather was as awesome as the views. Pirate Rock reappears in the Disney Junior online game "Sharky and Bones' Pirate Rock", Sharky and Bones host a concert on Pirate Rock and it's up to the player to collect the various gems as Sharky and Bones play hit songs from the series.“Our Outfitters are the heartbeat of their communities, as well as our program,” Polaris Adventures’ Director Gray Rentz said. Captain Hook was delighted to perform revealing he'd always dreamed of being part of a pirate rock band. Later that evening during show time Hook had quite enough of this foolishness and storm onto the stage bent on stealing the microphone but much to his surprise Jake offers Hook the microphone and suggests that he sings to the audience. Hook was determined to ruin the show so he'll never have to hear Jake's song ever again but Jake and his friends soon become aware of Hook's plot and bested the sneaky captain's many attempts to ruin the show. Jake and his crew began to practice for their performance and Captain Hook and his scurvy crew soon arrive at Pirate Rock. While Marina left to gather the rest of their friends to watch the performance at Pirate Rock. Marina enjoyed the song so much that she suggested that Jake and his crew should perform a show for their friends on Pirate Rock, much to the young pirates delight. Pirate Rock first appeared in the episode " of the same name", Marina overheard Jake and his crew performing their song after besting Captain Hook in a brief race. Pirate Rock is a large island in the shape of a guitar near Never Land featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Smee, Sharky, Bones, Marina, Sandy the Starfish, Lucille the Seal, Never Bird, Monkey, Orange Octopus, Stink Bug Jake, Izzy, Cubby, Skully, Captain Hook, Mr. ![]()
